ٍSuez Canal : Crossing 68 ships and AVIVA the largest yachts in the world today
The navigation movement in the Suez Canal witnessed, today, Monday, the crossing of 68 ships from both directions, with a total net tonnage of 4.6 million tons, and through the tourist yacht AVIVA, classified as one of the most expensive tourist yachts in the world, within the convoy of the south, on its journey from Hurghada destination to Turkey.
The total length of the AVIVA tourist yacht, flying the British flag, is 98.4 meters, 17 meters wide, and has a tonnage of 5000 tons.
He carries out the work of the shipping agency Gulf Egypt, and the tourist yacht AVIVA crosses the Suez Canal after a 24-hour tourist visit to the resort of El Gouna in Hurghada, coming from Thailand.
The yacht is owned by one of the world’s most famous rich people, the famous businessman Louis Joseph Charles, owner of the English club Tottenham.
In accordance with the protocol followed by the authority and in light of the authority’s keenness to encourage the crossing of cruise ships and yachts and to upgrade the services provided to them, Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, commissioned Captain Shadi Al-Sayyad to present the authority’s shield to the yacht captain, Captain Vasilis.
On the other hand Captain Vasilis, the captain of the yacht, expressed his gratitude for the transit facilities he touched during his journey through the canal, praising the cooperation of the Authority’s guides and their full knowledge of how to safely cross the canal.
The captain of the yacht indicated that this is his fifth voyage through the Suez Canal and his second as captain of the yacht. He has recently noticed that the Suez Canal is undertaking a development project in the southern sector, which will allow enhancing the navigational safety factor for giant ships transiting the canal.
It is worth noting that the Suez Canal pays great attention to encouraging tourism by ships and yachts in the canal area, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, by providing incentives, in addition to the competitive advantages offered by the authority to encourage yacht tourism by owning three centers for receiving and docking tourist yachts in cities
