Classic winter conditions greeted our 125-strong fleet for Race 4 of the Winter Series.
A blustery 15-20 knot west-sou-westerly kicked racing off before swinging slightly further to the south and backing off to 10 knots in the afternoon.
Malcolm Roe and Andrew Banks’ Swan 45 Amazingrace is a regular competitor in CYCA races. The team started well, however with a few normal crew away, managed to get on the wrong side of most of the shifts with Roe commenting afterwards “that just proves one can’t steer and do tactics at the same time!”
Despite their result not being higher up the scoreboard than they would prefer to enjoy, the team still had a great time out on the water “the CYCA Winter Series is always a fun day of sailing and a great way of getting out on the water with family and friends.”
