Algerie Ferries opens reservations for the new line on Naples
The first departure has been announced for next Friday, but the booking system still appears ‘to be refined’
After the first revelations a few weeks ago, the Algerian national shipping company Entmv – Algerie Ferries has returned to announce the imminent departure of the line between the capital and Naples.
First, the debut trip was announced for 24 July, brought forward two days later to 22 July. According to what was announced, the booking system would already be in operation, but until a few minutes ago the only trip that could be booked on the route was a 3 August trip on the El Djazair II ship, no return trip is currently planned. Not only that, but travel time (3 hours) and price (232 euros for an adult bridge pass) are also inconsistent.
Some more details come from the Italian terminal operator who will host Entmv, Terminal Napoli, concessionaire of the maritime station in the Campania capital: “For the moment, five landings have been scheduled, one in July and two in August and September.
Only the first will be carried out by El Djazair II, then another similar ship will be used. The touches will serve to test the economic attractiveness of the line, and then eventually stabilize it.
Also, for this reason, the trips will all depart from the maritime station, the only station equipped for non-Schengen traffic, even if obviously it is not the most suitable terminal for a ferry service with predictably many vehicles accompanying passengers
. In any case, if the service works, we will think about a more suitable mooring “, explained CEO Tomaso Cognolato.
