Bulk carrier TRUDY hit headlines twice recently, first when French police seized the ship in the English Channel on Oct 1, took her to Dunkirk, and found some 1.1 ton of cocaine in the cargo hold; second when on Oct 10 the ship was literally, hijacked during the night Oct 10-11 by a group of commandos-type perpetrators right at Dunkirk port, and held for several hours, with unclear intention.
Now it seems, their intention transpired – bulk carrier arrived at Rotterdam via Antwerp, early in the morning Oct 26. The worker found suspicious packages and alerted police, which found 529 kilos of cocaine, hidden in a cargo hold, in packages of different sizes and weights. So in all probability, commandos or whoever seized the ship in Dunkirk, brought in a new cocaine lot, destined for Rotterdam.
