Confetra will propose an Italian-Ukrainian Logistic Coordination to the Government
The association will suggest the establishment of a body responsible for promoting the prompt resumption of trade with Ukraine from a logistical point of view as soon as hostilities cease
“The idea came to us by observing what is happening with wheat: as soon as, we hope very soon, the situation will unlock and transport will have to be organized quickly, the unknowns and problems to be solved in a very short time will be many and complicated. Since at the end of the conflict the situation will recur exponentially, it would be better to start thinking about it now “.
Speaking is Roberto Alberti, coordinator of Confetra’s internationalization commission, intending to propose to the Government the establishment of an Italian-Ukrainian Logistic Coordination: “When the conflict ends and the exchange flows with Ukraine start again
Our companies will need a sea of information that is not easy to find: state of transport and storage infrastructures, operations and methods of functioning of customs, accessibility to industries and warehouses, etc.
It would be easier and more useful for the reconstruction of the country if we had already started a monitoring operation that will allow us to be promptly operational as soon as conditions allow “
.
Confetra could put in know-how and an already rich database, but for Alberti the role of public administrations is indispensable, also to facilitate relations with the Ukrainian administration, which will inevitably be strongly tested by the conflict, however, it ends: “For this, we would like to submit this proposal to the Government as soon as possible.
I am thinking in particular of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which also have funds within the framework of the aid strategy for Italian exporting companies.
It would be a service that generates really important facilitation and savings for operators and therefore for our foreign trade and for the procurement of raw materials and trade with Ukraine in general. It would also be one of the ways to give concrete help to Ukraine in the moment of reconstruction “.
