Launching the “Customs Guide for Import and Export” in Egypt to facilitate investors
Dr. Mohamed Maait, ُEgyptian Minister of Finance, reviewed the efforts to develop customs awareness among workers and dealers with customs, explaining that the issuance and publication of the new version of the “Customs Guide to Import and Export” contributes to facilitating investors, as it includes all legislative and procedural updates related to the import and export process, which are aimed at facilitating Absorption by the commercial community, as well as customs port workers;
In a way that helps in unifying customs transactions, thus facilitating the import and export process, stimulating trade movement, and stimulating investment.
The Minister of Finance stressed the need to sustain the development of the customs system to achieve the desired goals, including reducing the time for customs release, and reducing the costs of goods and services, through the expansion of technological solutions;
To maximize the benefit from what is offered by the national project to modernize and automate the customs system, which is based on linking ports to a unified electronic platform “window” and the development of logistic points, and the application of the pre-registration system for shipments (ACI).
It also included the most important amendments that were made to the executive regulations of the import and export law, including: controls for dealing with incoming goods for private use, whether for natural or legal persons, and the exception from submitting an import financing form for messages whose value does not exceed 25 thousand dollars once every six months, and machinery and equipment Which pertain to projects implemented by Egyptian companies and bodies abroad, and what is imported by embassies and consulates, representation offices and branches of international and regional organizations and the like, and the cases approved by the Minister of Trade and Industry.
