The General Manager of the Yanbu Commercial Port and King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu Captain Ali Al Mahwari, and the Chairman of YNBCCI Mr. Ahmad Al Shaghdali, emphasized in their opening remarks on how the shipping and logistics sector is witnessing exponential growth thanks to the Kingdom’s relentless support to develop the maritime industry and implement global best practices.
They also underlined the collaboration with entrepreneurs and businesses to accelerate economic activity, benefit from the ports’ capabilities and utilize the offered investment opportunities. The YNBCCI Chairman added that the Chamber intends to play a holistic role in facilitating trade at both ports to support of the nation’s economic progress.
The King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu and Yanbu Commercial Port enjoy a strategic location as it intersects between Europe and America in the north through the Suez Canal and the Far East through the Bab Al-Mandab Strait in the south. Its deep-water berths are well-equipped to receive next-generation fleets of container vessels. The shipping operations between these two ports and neighboring ones will help in reducing the congestion and strain on overland routes which will in turn decrease accidents and fuel consumption of trucks that transport goods in addition to slashing the carbon footprint generated by these vehicles.
