Offshore : Eni has entered into a contract for its jack up rig ‘Topaz Driller’ in Montenegro
Eni Montenegro BV (“Eni”) to use premium jack up rig, the Topaz Driller, to perform drilling services offshore of Montenegro for 180 days.
According to agreement, rig will commence work in Q1 2021.
Rig is understood to be stacked in West Africa after completing the contract at Etame Area, Offshore Gabon for Vaalco Energy.
No further details shared by the drilling contractor at this time.
On 14th September 2016, Eni entered Montenegro’s Upstream by signing a Concession Contract with the Government of Montenegro related to the exploration of four blocks in the country’s offshore. T
he blocks, covering a total area of 1,228 square kilometers, have been awarded following the First International Competitive Bid Round.
The Concession Contract assigns to Eni the role of Operator with a 50% of interest in the exploration licenses 4118-4, 4118-5, 4118-9 and 4118-10. OAO NOVATEK is a partner in the concession with the 50% stake.
