The energy transition is a divisive topic, the demand from the public, governments, and industry to move quickly to sustainable sources of energy is huge. Some believe oil and gas need to stop instantly and others realize it’s a transition and it will take time to move to new sources of energy. The speed of this transition is quick, but it needs to be quicker. It becomes clearer that hydrogen will be one of the key industries to enhance the energy transition.

At the Sustainable Energy Council, we see our job to encourage and help everyone move towards a more sustainable world. We are also realists and understand the need to engage with all sides, utilizing the skills, technology, and funding from every sector to push these goals.

As such we are delighted to have joined forces with the Port of Rotterdam, City of Rotterdam, and the Province of Zuid Holland to bring the world’s most important Hydrogen event – the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition – to Rotterdam in March 2022.

The IEA’s Executive Director Fatih Birol has said: “Hydrogen is today enjoying unprecedented momentum. The world should not miss this unique chance to make hydrogen an important part of our clean and secure energy future.”

The summit will hear from industry leaders and Government Ministers how they must come together to push the hydrogen agenda. Attendees will be able to meet Energy Ministers from across the world, all the leading industry players will be under one roof, coming together to announce projects, collaborations and provide global leadership when it’s most needed.

Participants will have the opportunity for site visits to the port of Rotterdam to see world-leading plans in action, as well as visit Delft University and see pioneering Hydrogen work for its use as the fuel of the future.
