Ports Australia Biennial Conference Agenda Launched

Following a two-year delay caused by the Covid – 19 pandemic, a peak industry event, the Ports Australia Biennial Conference will open in a little over a month (30 August – 1 September 2022) at the W Hotel Brisbane.

This year’s event has attracted numerous high profile, Australian and International speakers, including the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, and Regional Development of Australia, the Hon. Catherine King MP, together with the Chief Commissioner of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Gina Cass-Gottlieb, Commissioner Dr. Stephen King Productivity Commission together with Dr. Patrick Verhoeven Managing Director of the International Association of Ports and Harbours.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Risk and Resilience, an opportunity to explore the industry’s challenges, potential, and successes. Other highly regarded speakers will present on a variety of industry topics including insurance and risk, sustainability, single window development, and the era of supply chain digitalization to name a few.

On the other hand, Ports Australia Legal Working Group visited Port Botany and the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Precinct.

The precinct is very much growing and will continue with the demand from suppliers and consumers.

 The Moorebank Logistics Park is a 243-hectare logistics and intermodal precinct in South West Sydney.

The Interstate Rail Terminal, currently under construction, will be able to move by rail an additional 500,000 TEU to and from interstate and regional centres, removing thousands of existing long haulage truck journeys
