Rabie follows up on the developments of fish farming work
Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, inspected the Suez Canal Company for Aquaculture, accompanied by a number of the authority’s leaders, to follow up on the work and to find out the latest developments in the company’s development work.
The chairman of the authority was briefed on the company’s fish farming business, where the total number of ponds cultured with bream, seabass, tilapia, and shrimp reached 187, and another 107 ponds are scheduled to be cultured during the next month, God willing.
Admiral Rabie also learned about the progress of works in the basins targeted for development, where the completion rate of the works reached 55 percent
The development work includes raising the efficiency of 392 fish ponds divided into 49 segments, each segment includes 8 ponds for culture, according to the final plan that was recently approved after increasing the number of fish tanks. Basins and segments targeted for development.
During his tour, the chairman of the authority continued, the completion of the shrimp fry cultivation process in the designated ponds, as the authority started cultivating 11 million shrimp fry in the middle of last May.
The work of cultivating 7 million fries in 49 ponds has already been completed, and it is scheduled to complete the cultivation of the rest of the fry in successive stages during the coming period, according to the planned fry spawning schedule.
Subsequently, the team inspected the spring of the bream fish ponds, where work is underway to complete the cultivation of one and a half million bream fry out of a total of 2.5 million fish that have been started recently. Cultivation of ponds whose development is completed.
The inspection tour included the construction works of the administrative building, the external wall surrounding the company and the mosque, as well as the civil works related to the lining of basins and the ancillary equipment of the developed sewers for irrigation and drainage.
