Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA ) met today, Tuesday, with a high-level French cultural delegation from the Friends of the Louvre Group, headed by Mrs. Sabine de La Rochefoucauld, Head of External Relations at the Louvre Museum, accompanied by Mr. Sebastien Formaroli, President of the Friends of the Louvre Museum, and Mr. Bruno Chevart, President of the Friends of the Louvre. De Lesseps, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al-Dhahabi, consultant to the International Museum of the Suez Canal, in the Guidance Building in Ismailia Governorate.
The visit aims to boost means of joint cooperation and learn about the developments of the Suez Canal International Museum project
At the beginning of the meeting,Admiral Osama Rabie welcomed the French delegation to the Suez Canal Authority, and expressed his aspiration for the Suez Canal World Museum to play a major role in promoting the Egyptian-French cultural rapprochement.
Rabie stressed that the International Museum of the Canal represents a civilizational beacon and a hub for cultural and tourism development that supports the state’s efforts to develop the Canal region,
Pointing in this regard to the addition that the museum will represent after its opening in encouraging foreign tourism in parallel with efforts to enhance tourism of cruise ships and yachts passing through the canal.
On the other hand, Mrs. Sabine de La Rochefoucauld, Head of External Relations at the Louvre Museum, expressed her pride in this visit, which aims to strengthen cultural cooperation between the Louvre Museum and the International Museum of the Suez Canal.
Mr. Sebastian Formaroli, Chairman of the Friends of the Louvre Museum, expressed his happiness on his first visit to the Suez Canal, appreciating the wonderful effort made by the Authority in restoring the archaeological building, which has a unique architectural style
Stressing his intention to strengthen cooperation between the Friends of the Louvre Society and the International Museum of the Suez Canal by conveying his impressions. Introducing the story of the Suez Canal, which the museum expresses, to more than 60,000 members, including the Friends of the Louvre Museum.
At the end of the meeting, Admiral Osama Rabie presented the shield of the new Suez Canal to Mrs. Sabine de La Rochefoucauld, Head of External Relations at the Louvre Museum.
After that, the attendees made a field visit, which included the halls of the Suez Canal World Museum, De Lesseps Lounge, and the International Canal Stadium, followed by a cruise in the New Suez Canal.
