Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated on Monday the El-Taameer (Abu Zakry) road axis in Alexandria.
According to the Egyptian presidency, the new axis extends for a length of 35 kilometres from its intersection with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert highway to Sidi Kerir Road/Borg El-Arab airport with nine traffic lanes in each direction.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the new reconstruction axis, “Abu Zekry axis”, is considered an addition and a huge qualitative leap that would open new development horizons for the entire western region of Alexandria governorate and increase its urban space, and link the port of Dekheila to the desert road, the international coastal road and the city of Burj Al Arab, and to become an artery A vital developmental project to connect Alexandria to the new city of El Alamein via the coastal road.
The Spokesman added that the reconstruction axis comes as an additional new step in the implementation of the state’s strategy in establishing a network of roads and axes throughout the Republic. Organized, modern residential communities, enhance economic and commercial returns, provide job opportunities, and link national projects to integrate with each other, as a reflection of a comprehensive development vision and a profound scientific philosophy towards construction, reconstruction and development.
