Temsah Shipbuilding Company Inaugurates Three New Locomotives
Al-Temsah Shipbuilding Company, one of SCA’s subsidiaries, inaugurated today, Wednesday, three new marine tugs, similar in design and specifications to the latest two tugs built by the company. 1 and Azima 2, under the supervision of the English rating agency LR to support marine fleet with new advanced units to serve ships in transit within the objectives of the development strategy 2023,
The specifications of the three new locomotives meet the needs and nature of work in the Suez Canal, with a length of 18.6 meters, a width of 6.8 meters, a depth of 2.6 meters and a draft of 2.20 meters.
Its capacity is 2 * 500 horsepower, in addition to providing the locomotives with two fuel tanks with a capacity of 6 to 10 m3, and two fresh water tanks with a capacity of 1 m3, and each locomotive can accommodate a crew of 4 seafarers
It is noteworthy , that Al Temsah Shipbuilding Company is working on building two new tugs of the same model as part of the Suez Canal Authority contract with Al Temsah Company to build 5 new marine tugs with distinct specifications.
