Walid Sami : New Chairman of SCZONE
The Official Gazette published the decision of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, to appoint Walid Mohamed Sami Gamal El-Din as Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal.
The decision stipulated the appointment of Jamal Al-Din, with the rank of minister, for a period of one year, starting August 12, 2022.
The 461km zone is governed by the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone: an autonomous body with executive/regulative powers. The authority is entitled to approve decrees, propose additional incentives, as well as the full authority to oversee all areas of operation, staffing, control over budget, funding, developing partnerships and providing business facilitation services.
