Yachting : New Columbus Classic 50 superyacht concept unveiled
Columbus Yachts has extended its Classic line of bluewater cruising motor yachts with the addition of the new Columbus Classic 50 to its existing lineup of 80-metre, 100-metre and 120-metre variants. The sub-500 GT, 50-metre steel and aluminium concept is designed by Hydro Tec’s Sergio Cutolo.
The overall design follows the Classic line’s familiar angular shapes and covers three exterior decks, tapering down to the spacious beach club at the stern where the transom opens to reveal a functional swim platform. The design features several layout options, including a swimming pool on the sundeck along with a bar area and outdoor dining space that makes this deck one of the social hotspots on board
The interior is arranged around a four-cabin layout with a master suite on the main deck and a full-beam VIP cabin. Two lounges fill the main and upper deck aft spaces which lead out onto an outdoor
The flared bow and underwater efficiency of the Columbus Classic 50’s hull design makes her an ideal long-range cruiser, with a range exceeding 4,000 nm and a cruising speed of 14 knots.
