ZESTAs announces new Chair and board members
ZESTAs are delighted to announce the appointment of Chair Jogchum Bruinsma, Head of Maritime Applications at Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology.
Jogchum has been at Nedstack for almost 4 years, accumulating a wealth of experience in hydrogen usage for the maritime sector. His background is in Control Systems Engineering and Industrial Automation and he has co-authored articles on the application of maritime fuel cells.
Additionally, Jogchum has worked in several senior engineering and management positions at Boskalis and Huisman Etech Experts, where he was involved in many innovative and challenging maritime projects.
As a founding ZESTAs board member, Jogchum has demonstrated his passion and determination to lead shipping to true zero emissions. The Association will benefit greatly from his expertise and hands-on leadership experience.
Jogchum will be ably supported by Johan Burgren, newly appointed Vice Chair of the Association and Business Manager at PowerCell Sweden AB. He is an expert in onboard hydrogen systems, having presented at ShipZERO26 on the wide range of potential solutions available to various shipping sectors.
At the ShipZERO26.5 Roundtable Discussion, Johan eloquently illustrated the need for pooling: “Crowdfunding or crowd buying will really get this economy of scale working, like in the automotive industry. This industry needs to get together and buy larger quantities of this technology for it to become cheaper and more reliable.”
Jogchum and Johan are joined by new board members, Ben Medland (DRIFT Energy), Sarah Arntz (Wattlab), and Paul Hughes (Shift Clean Energy) as well as the advisory board, made up of Eric Eyo (Ince Group), Stuart MacDonald (Bride Valley Partners), Jennie Folkunger (Port of Trelleborg), Frank Nieuwenhuis (Econowind) and Patrick Englebert (PROPELWIND).
