King Abdulaziz Port : Anew record during the month of August, the highest in its history
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam achieved a new record by handling 199,609 TEUs last August, which is the highest number in the volume of handling within one month in the port’s history.
Achieving this volume of handling came with a difference of more than 11,000 containers from the largest record recorded in June 2022 AD, as a direct result of the continuous development and continuing successes that in turn contributed to enhancing the port’s productivity and emphasizing its qualitative operational and logistical capabilities.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is considered an important logistic center on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, due to its main role in facilitating the movement of goods traffic to the eastern and central regions of the Kingdom, which gives a competitive advantage that attracts investors wishing to establish integrated logistic centers that provide value-added services through it.
The General Authority of Ports “Mawani” is working to consolidate the competitiveness of the port, which covers an area of 23.5 km2, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services, by developing infrastructure, expanding its capacity, and raising its operational efficiency in a way that enhances its position and returns full support to the movement of trade and economic development of the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has superior logistical and operational capabilities, as the number of its berths currently stands at 43 fully equipped berths that can receive giant ships with a capacity of 105 million tons.
In addition to the support stations, there is a ship repair facility at the heart of the port that includes two floating docks to accommodate ships up to 215 meters in length. The port has been linked to the dry port in Riyadh.
