MSC adds a locomotive and a new train between the port of Spezia and Turin
With a slight delay compared to the original plans, the MSC group is preparing to start a new railway relationship between the port of Spezia and Piedmont from next week.
More precisely, the connection will be between the Orbassano airport in Turin and the La Spezia Container Terminal which will be connected three times a week for the transport of containers. Each train will have a length of 450 meters and will be driven by Medway Italia, the railway company of the Geneva logistics and shipping group.
In this case, as happened for many relationships inaugurated and marketed in the recent past by the intermodal arm Medlog, the railway transport mode is proposed as an alternative to the increasingly critical road transport due to the lack of drivers and infrastructural criticalities in Liguria.
Precisely to carry out the railway maneuvers at the Orbassano freight village, but not only, Medway also hired a DE 18 locomotive supplied by the company Imateq Italia Srl, the historic Italian branch of the German locomotive manufacturer
