MSC to Participate at IAPH 2022 World Ports Conference
André Simha in dialogue with Eric Johnson, JOC, on global standards for data exchange processes in ports
André Simha, Global Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, will be attending and speaking at the IAPH 2022 World Ports Conference, which is being held in Vancouver, Canada between 16-18 May.
Andre will take part in the highly anticipated one-on-one with Eric Johnson, Senior Editor, Technology, JOC on Tuesday, 17 May, from 2:00 – 2:30 pm PST (11-11:30 pm CET). The session is titled “Setting Global Standards for Data Exchange Processes in Ports”.
The dialogue will delve into the issue of scarcity of data and how this is impacting cargo forecasting and legal certainty, with a view to investigating how global standards in data exchange processes between shipping and port communities can help to solve this dilemma.
Audiences can look forward to hearing Andre share his views not just from MSC’s perspective, but also as the Chairman of the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA).
The IAPH 2022 World Ports Conference will bring together over 400 maritime professionals, representing a broad spectrum of the maritime supply chain, providing an opportunity to network, learn and, most importantly, interact in person again.
In collaboration with the World Bank, the conference will run a series of regional online workshops to address specific factors that cause gaps in connectivity, efficiency, and the overall costs of shipping cargo. These workshops will cover the regulatory environment in which ports operate, their scope of digitalization, and their overall environmental performance.
