The IMO Ship Design and Construction (SDC) Sub-Committee held its 8th session remotely from January 17 to 21, 2022. This Brief provides an overview of the more significant issues discussed at this session, which includes matters pertaining to the Carriage of Industrial Personnel, Second Generation Intact Stability Criteria, and Underwater Noise Reduction.
While new regulations developed by the SDC Sub-Committee are not finalized until approved by the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), a review of the Sub-Committee’s activity can provide a forecast of future regulatory developments.
