Distressed coal barge aground in national park, Indonesia

Coal barge GOLD TRANS 308 in full load been stranded on Alas Purwo National Park coast, Muncar District, the eastern tip of Java island, Indonesia, since Nov 2. Barge was en route from Banjarmasin Kalimantan, to Cilacap, southern central Java. Hull leaked, barge developed a heavy list, and probably, was intentionally grounded, to avoid capsize and sinking. Local authorities were informed on Nov 3, no reports yet on the salvage plan. Details of the accident, including ID of the tug which was towing a barge, remain unknown.

The vessel departed from BERDYANSK, UA on 2021-11-06 03:00 LT (UTC +2) and is currently sailing at 0.1 knots in Northeast direction

GOLDEN SEA (IMO: 9173355) is a Bulk Carrier that was built in 1997 (24 years ago) and is sailing under the flag of Panama.
Its carrying capacity is 15962 t DWT and her current draught is reported to be 7.8 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 135.8 meters and her width is 22 meters.
