KFTL was part of history today, as we accommodated hashtag#CMACGMTROOSEVELT, the largest vessel ever to call at the hashtag#PortOfKingston. CMA CGM T. ROOSEVELT is a hashtag#ContainerShip that was built in 2017 and is sailing under the flag of Malta. It’s carrying capacity is 14,414 TEU and her current draught is reported to be 12.8 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 365.96 meters and her width is 48.2 meters. Since KFTL took over the management of the terminal in 2016, under the concession agreement between @cmacgm and the Government of Jamaica, through @portauthorityja, several upgrades have been undertaken including the dredging of the shipping channel, the reinforcement of the quay wall, the repavement of the South Berth and the acquisition of new cranes and other container handling equipment. These developments have all positioned the terminal to facilitate Post-Panamax vessels such as the one witnessed today and are a testament of CMA CGM’s commitment to the Port of Kingston and Jamaica’s economy.
