ShipZERO26.5: “We’ve Got the Power!”
The event in Amsterdam is on 20 June.
ZESTAs are delighted to announce that world-leading shipbuilding firm NAVTEK will sponsor ShipZERO26.5: “We’ve Got the Power!”
NAVTEK’s dedication to driving change in the maritime industry is underlined by its commitment to making ShipZERO26.5 a reality.
For over 40 years, NAVTEK has demonstrated its status as a leading-edge company, continually developing and diversifying its offering in line with the best interests of the ocean and the planet.
Their focus on disruptive marine technologies, including energy, fully electrical marine vessels, offshore wind power, autonomous vessels and de-carbonisation of ports, makes them a natural partner for ZESTAs and the ground-breaking ShipZERO events series.
Regarding their sponsorship, NAVTEK General Manager Ferhat Acuner stated:
“As a member of ZESTAS, we are delighted to be sponsoring this exciting ShipZERO26.5 event contributing to our global maritime decarbonisation goals. We may have begun as a small company, but we have very big dreams to make historic changes in the maritime sector with our holistic approach, which in fact is already evident with our ZEETUG.”
ZEETUG, the multi-award-winning world’s first all-electric tugboat, is just one of a number of projects and initiatives from NAVTEK supporting the charge to True Zero. Others include the world’s first self-propelled floating power plant to the autonomous sea surface marine litter cleaning LAUTUS series.
Secretary-General of ZESTAs, Madadh MacLaine emphasized the significance of NAVTEK’s support of ShipZERO 26.5:“NAVTEK’s holistic vision creates the ideal, real-world platform for materializing the ‘Navigational Chart to True Zero’ actions. We anticipate strong collaborations between NAVTEK and our other members coming out of the ShipZERO 26.5 event.”
As well as sponsoring the event, ZESTAs are thrilled that Mr. Gürdoğar Sarıgül (MSc) will be presenting the ZEETUG – which, producing zero emissions and no noise, is set to make waves in greening port operations!
Mr. Gürdoğar Sarıgül (MSc) has more than 35 years of professional experience in the field of conservation biology, sustainable development, nature protection, Green & Blue Economy, renewable energy, Climate Change, and low carbon development.
He spent more than 20 years in the nature conservation field, saving marine turtle nesting beaches, colonial waterbirds, and coastal wetlands in Turkey.
Mr. Sarıgül lead 13 annual programs during his tenure at EU Commission services and was a peer Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reviewer of the European Investment Bank. Mr. Sarıgül recently joined NAVTEK Naval Technologies as a senior consultant on Climate Change, Sustainable Development, and Maritime Decarbonisation expert.
ShipZERO26.5: “We’ve Got the Power!” is the second event in the ZESTAS ShipZERO series, launched at COP26 in Glasgow last November. ShipZERO brings together change-makers and innovators from across the entire maritime sector – from shipowners and manufacturers to financiers and regulators.
