Offshore : Maersk Drilling clinches one-well contract offshore Egypt
Denmark based global offshore drilling contractor ‘Maersk Drilling’ has secured a one-well contract offshore Egypt from an unnamed operator

According to Maersk Drilling, the contract has an estimated duration of 21 days and is expected to commence in March 2020, in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract. The contract value is estimated to be U$ 3.8million.
In July 2019, Semi submersible was signed up by Edison E & P for an exploration well in the North Thekah gas field, Egypt.
Maersk Discoverer started drilling in January 2020 on the first exploration well on the North Thekah concession, in the Egyptian Eastern Mediterranean waters, for Edison.
2009 built DSS21-DPS2 Ultra Deep Water Semi-Submersible Rig is capable to Max.drilling depth of 32800ft/10000m and Max water depth of 9840ft/3000 m.
Following the completion of the additional Egyptian well, Maersk Discoverer will perform its scheduled Special Periodic Survey, after which the rig will move to Trinidad and Tobago for BP
