Suez Canal Authority Participates in Monaco Yacht Show.
The Authority’s participation comes within the framework of transformation into an international center for yacht tourism in the Middle East region.
Exempting yachts (less than 300 tons) of transit dues and berthing fees during the soft opening period, provided that staying for a period not less than 10 days at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia.
Privileges and discounts up to 70 % in berthing fees and long-term yacht storing at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia.
Today, Wednesday, the 32nd Monaco Yacht Show events started, which runs until September 30, in Port Hercules, France, with the participation of the Suez Canal Authority as one of the most prominent and main partners in the captains and crews lounge (C&C LOUNGE).
The Authority’s participation comes within the framework of its ambitious plan to transform into an international center for yacht tourism in the Middle East region and to achieve optimum use of the unique location of the Suez Canal, which enables it to acquire a good share of this promising industry in light of the growing number of yachts in the Mediterranean region.
In line with this ambitious plan, the Authority announced a range of privileges through a new maritime circular to bolster yacht tourism and to encourage yachts to stay at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia in its new guise after its development, raising the level of the provided services, and introducing new ones.
The Circular comprises exempting the Suez Canal transiting yachts in both directions, of a Suez Canal gross tonnage of less than 300 tons, from the levied transit dues and berthing fees at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia during the marina soft opening period starting from October 15th of this year until November 1st of the same year, provided that staying at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia for a period not less than 10 days starting from the next day of arrival of the yacht to the marina, as well as granting those yachts a complimentary invitation to attend the marina soft opening ceremony, and benefiting from all the exclusive privileges decided upon and offered on that day to the berthed yachts at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia.
The circular grants a discount in the berthing and storing (wintering) fees for long-term periods at the Yachts Marina in Ismailia for gross tonnage less than 300 tons during the soft opening period, 50 % in case of storing (wintering) the yachts for a period ranging from 30 to 90 days, and 70 % in case of storing (wintering) for a period ranging from 90 to 180 days.
Monaco Yacht Show is considered one of the biggest international events for yacht tourism as it attracts the most prominent global companies and shipyards specializing in yacht manufacturing to form an international forum highlighting the modern trends in this vital industry.
