Suez Canal strengthens its naval fleet Joining 16 different marine units
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said that the works of expanding and deepening the canal are scheduled to be finally completed next year (2023).
He Said that during the celebration of the opening of the Olympic Village and the inauguration of new naval units for the Suez Canal Authority.
President Sisi added that at that time, the project to dig the new Suez Canal required LE68 billion, and an IPO took place for the Egyptians, which was fully covered within only 10 days to finance the project.
President Sisi continued, “There was a state of skepticism and abuse of the Egyptian state and a lowering of the Egyptian people’s morale at that time,” stressing that the new channel achieved large revenues greater than the number collected from Egyptians, indicating that the channel’s income ranged between $4.8 billion – 5 billion dollars and has now increased to reach 5.5 billion dollars, 6 and 7 billion dollars.
President Sisi stressed that the Suez Canal revenues during the past four years or Thursday exceeded the amounts that were paid in the expansion process of the navigation course of the canal.
On the other hand President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to organize an economic conference at the end of this month, adding, “I wish there were specialists and experts, even experts who disagree with us on some policies. The important thing is that we hear each other and think together.”
President Sisi said: “This will be a very important opportunity to hear from each other, what is important is the interest of our country.”
President Sisi assigned the government to set up a package of incentives for industrialists and exporters so that the export figures would reach the target, i.e. one hundred billion dollars.
The Suez Canal Authority is keen to enhance the capabilities of its marine units’ fleet of dredgers, tugs, boats and ferries according to a scientific approach and a specific timetable, with the aim of raising the level of marine services provided to transiting ships, and meeting the needs of customers and the requirements of the expected growth in the global trade movement passing through the canal.
And Suez Canal inaugurated today the inclusion of 16 diverse marine units, toinhances its competitiveness and maintains its leading position within the authority’s strategy 2023, within the framework of the political leadership’s directives to keep pace with the rapid technological development in the field of marine auxiliary units industry

Multipurpose units

Tugs& Towing
The twoTugs (Azima 1 and Azima 2) Al-Temsah Shipbuilding Company, one of the Authority’s subsidiaries, succeeded in building the two tugboats, Azima 1 and Azima 2 in record time to meet the needs and nature of work in the Suez Canal.
