The Egyptian Minister of Transport follows up the implementation rates of Alexandria port projects
Lieutenant-General, Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Egyptian Minister of Transport, accompanied by Major General Reda Ismail, head of the maritime transport sector, and Major General Nihad Shaheen, head of the Alexandria Port Authority, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the implementation rates of the projects being implemented in Alexandria Port.
The tour began with the minister inspecting the multi-purpose “TAHYA MISR” station project to follow up on the development of the superstructure works at the station and to see the latest developments. Implementing stone protection and protecting the bottom from erosion of the northeastern corner of the sidewalk.
The building consultant also made a detailed presentation of the executive position of the buildings, service facilities, gates, and technical workshops, where the commitment of the executing companies of the project was emphasized to complete the implementation of administrative and service buildings in line with the project timetable.
The Minister of Transport was also briefed on the plan to complete the dredging works for the navigation lanes and station berths, which are being carried out by the Alexandria Port Authority and the Suez Canal Authority.
TMT presented and clarified the installation work of the cranes in cooperation with crews from the German company LIEBHERR.
It is worth noting that it is expected to receive the second batch of 6 cranes with a total number of (12) winches by the end of this month, in order to complete the installation and testing work in the framework of preparing to operate the station.
