The port authority of Genoa works on ‘plan B’ for the new dam

“In consideration of the non-submission of offers by prequalified subjects within the deadlines set by the procedure for awarding the complex integrated contract relating to the final, executive design and construction of the new Genoa breakwater, the Port System Authority intends to continue as of now, pursuant to art. 63 of the Code of Contracts, in the process of assignment with interested parties “.

This is the note with which the Genoese port authority commented on the outcome of the tender for the construction of the first phase of the new Genoa dam which did not attract offers from the two groups of construction companies ‘convened’.

The note from Palazzo San Giorgio goes on to say: “To this end, a first hypothesis is being investigated which envisages anticipating, already in the course of the assignment, the possibility, with the same functional and economic performance, of a remodeling of the pier foraneo according to the indications contained in the motivated determination n. 1/22 of the Special Committee of the Higher Council of Public Works and remitted to the definitive planning phase “.

The Note adds that “at the same time, the possibility of accessing, as a priority, the specific Ministerial Fund or other sources of financing of one’s own or of the State, in order to find the resources necessary to guarantee financial coverage for the increase in the prices of materials “.
